Boys Basketball vs Buckeye Central

Last night the Boys basketball team finished out their regular season games with a come-from-behind win over Buckeye Central 59 - 48.  Davin Went led the Chargers with 22 points and 6 three-point baskets beating the all-time career 3-point record of 99.  This was held for the last 26 years by Mike Leimeister.  Davin now has 104 three-point makes.  Cole Leimeister paced with 19 and Coltyn Meagrow added 7.  The Chargers ended their second half of the season 8-3 and finished with a 9-13 overall record ending on a 4-game win streak that Edison boys haven't seen in at least 7 years.  The Chargers play their tournament game Friday night at Liberty Center to take on the #2-seeded Eagles.  Tip-off at 7 pm, please come support your Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs Port Clinton and Western

The Edison Boys Basketball team won 3 of 4 games last week, a pair of them over the weekend.  Friday night the Chargers closed out its conference play at home vs. Port Clinton.  The back-and-forth game led to overtime where the Chargers sealed the victory 57-53.  Cole Leimeister led the Chargers with 14, Coltyn Meagrow added 11, and Davin Wendt chipped in 10 and grabbed 7 boards.  Luke Whiley, Luke Blatnik, and Grayson Smith had 7, 7, and 6 respectively.  Saturday Night the Chargers recognized its seniors against the Western Reserve Roughriders.  Another game of back and forth but the Chargers pulled out another close one winning 55 - 53.  Davin Wendt paced the Chargers this time with 15 points, Cole Leimeister 14, and Coltyn Meagrow added 10 with 9 rebounds.  Davin Wendt is now 2 three-pointers away from breaking the all-time 3 point career record.  The Chargers play tonight at home for the last time against Buckeye Central as a make-up game.  Come out and support your Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs Willard

The Charger boys hosted the Willard Flashes this past Friday for an SBC Bay Division matchup.  The Chargers got off to a very fast start but were unable to hold on as they lost a heartbreaker in overtime 61-57.  That marks the 7th game lost by the Chargers under 6 points.  The Chargers were led by Cole Leimeister with 22 points.  Luke Whiley added 10 and Coltyn Meagrow 9 points and 8 rebounds.  Luke Blatnik recorded 8 assists.  The Chargers have a full week scheduled for this week starting tonight at Monroeville.  Go Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs South Central

After a very rocky start to the game, the boys’ basketball team regained focus and came out victorious on the road vs. South Central 81 - 61.  Big offensive nights came from Coltyn Meagrow, with 25 points, and Cole Leimeister with 22 points. Davin Wendt added 11 and Zach Rang chipped in 6 with a slew of other Chargers adding to the total.  The offense was paced by the team hitting 11 threes (6 by Leimeister) and a big alley-oop dunk off the backboard by Meagrow. That is 4 wins in the last 5 games and the Chargers look to extend that record with a bust weekend at home against Willard and Wynford. Go Chargers!!!

The JV boys basketball team had a great game last night, defeating the South Central Trojans 66-26.  All Chargers were in the scoring column as their tenacious defense led to lots of offensive opportunities.  Leading the way was Cam Sallee with 20 points.  Connor Goodwin had 14 and Wesley Seel added 12.  The Chargers play at home Friday against Willard.  Go Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs Woodmore

Saturday night, the Charger boys basketball team looked to snap its home losing streak against the Woodmore Wildcats. After 4 quarters of intense play, the Chargers were successful in winning the game 68-60. Cole Leimeister led the charge with 23 points and seven rebounds, shooting 4 of 7 from three points. Davin Wendt chipped in 14 points, and Coltyn Meagrow had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Grayson Smith and Luke Whiley both added 8 points and pulled down 6 and 7 rebounds, while Luke Blatnik added 4 and had eight rebounds. The Chargers have now won 3 of the last four games and look to earn more victories this week. Chargers play Tuesday at South Central. Go Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs Port Clinton

The Charger boys visited PC Wednesday night for an SBC matchup.  After thirteen lead changes in an incredibly close game, the Chargers came out victorious winning 60-59. Leading the Chargers was Cole Leimeister, who scored 18 points and had a huge game-winning layup with little time on the clock.  Luke Whiley had a massive contribution of 14 points and a couple of threes to spark the Chargers into the game. Coltyn Meagrow had a hard-fought 12 points while Davin Wendt added 7. The win was due to the collective efforts of the entire team, coaches, and fans in the stands!  Chargers play Friday at Huron. JV tip at 5:45 pm.   Go Chargers!!!

The Boys JV team lost to Port Clinton 53 to 35. The Chargers were led in scoring by Cam Sallee with 13 and Connor Goodwin with 11. Weston Hoover added 4 rebounds and Blaise Garn added 3 steals. The Chargers take on Huron on Friday night.

Boys Basketball vs Vermilion

The Varsity Boys Basketball team traveled to Vermilion on Saturday night for an SBC matchup.  After falling behind early 11-0, the Chargers clawed back to being down 22-20 at halftime.  With collective defensive effort ball control and a spark by a Coltyn Meagrow dunk, the Chargers emerged victorious, beating Vermilion 45-39.  Leading the Chargers was Coltyn Meagrow with 19 points followed by Cole Leimeister with 16.  Davin Wendt added 6 points, with crucial points down the stretch to help secure the win.  The Chargers play 3 games this week.  At Port Clinton on Wednesday, at Huron on Friday, and home vs. Woodmore on Saturday.  Come out and support your Boys Basketball team this week!  Go Chargers!

The Boys JV team traveled to Vermilion on Saturday for an SBC matchup.  The Chargers fought hard but were unable to compete with Vermilion's size as they fell 56-37.  Cam Sallee led the way with 16 points, Kyle Robinson had 8, Blaise Garn added 6, Connor Goodwin had 4 and Wesley Seel had 3.  The Chargers are back in action on Wednesday at Port Clinton!

Boys Basketball vs St. Paul

Edison Boys Basketball played at home on Thursday night against the St. Paul Flyers.  After an incredibly hard fought game, the Chargers were unable to keep up with the Flyers outside shooting, falling short 69-44.  Cole Leimeister led the Chargers with 15 points while Grayson Smith, Luke Blatnik, and Luke Whiley all added 7.  The Chargers are back in action against Vermilion on Saturday.  Go Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs Firelands

Boys varsity basketball looked to gain another win Tuesday night in a nonconference game against the Firelands Falcons.  It was a close contest all game but the Chargers came up short losing 66-60.  Cole Leimiester led the Chargers with 18 points and 6 rebounds, Luke Whiley had 12, Coltyn Meagrow had 11, and Grayson Smith with 8 points and 5 rebounds.  The Chargers take on the Margaretta Polar Bears at home on Thursday.  JV tip at 6 pm.  Go Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs Gibsonburg

The Varsity boys basketball team had their first home game of the season Tuesday night against the Gibsonburg Goldenbears.  After a fantastic start to the game, the Chargers went into halftime with a slim lead.  The Chargers struggled in the second half and were unable to secure the win losing 67-48.  Coltyn Meagrow led all scorers with 16 points and 8 rebounds.  Cole Leimeister had 14 points while Grayson Smith paced with 10.  The Chargers are back in action at home on Saturday the 21st against Vermilion.  The game has been moved up to a 2:30 jv tip and Varsity will follow.  Go Chargers!

Boys Basketball vs Mapleton

Edison Boys Basketball traveled to Mapleton Saturday night to take on the undefeated Mounties.  After an incredible back-and-forth game, the Chargers were victorious in overtime 73 to 68.  Leading the Chargers in scoring was Luke Whiley, who scored 18 points.  Davin Wendt had 16, while Cole Leimeister and Coltyn Meagrow both had 15 each.  Coltyn Meagrow also pulled down 8 rebounds.  Balanced scoring and handling the pressure from Mapleton was the reason for the upset.  The Chargers are now 1-1 and look to continue their success at home on Tuesday against Gibsonburg.  JV tip is at 6 pm.  Come out and support the Chargers!

The JV Boys basketball team defeated Mapleton on Saturday by a final score of 56-47. The Chargers went down early in the second quarter but were able to recapture the lead before halftime and never looked back.  Wesley Seel scored 16, Cameron Sallee scored 14, and Kyle Robinson scored 12.  The JV looks to keep the momentum going on Tuesday with a home game against Gibsonburg.
