On Monday, November 11, 2024, Edison Middle School hosted an assembly to honor our local veterans. The assembly began with our veterans, staff, and students standing as the American flag and the flags of our various branches of the armed forces were carried in. Emmet Woodward lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Our principal, Mr. Smith, gave the opening speech to greet the entire assembly. Mrs. Rosekelly, Edison Middle School music teacher, arranged for patriotic songs to be sung by the fourth grade music classes. Israyel Bellman and Alivia McFarland read passages dedicated to the veterans.    Veterans in attendance were recognized and given a small token of our appreciation by the 8th grade student council representatives.   Following the program Edison Middle School Parents Club provided refreshments to our honored guests.  We would like to acknowledge these staff members Mrs. Putnam, Mrs. Rosekelly, Mrs. Reilly, Mrs. Shanle, the custodial staff and Mrs. Bishop for helping organizing this special event.
