Edison Speech & Debate Invitational

Congratulations to the 10 Edison Middle School students who competed at the Edison Speech and Debate Invitational Tournament on Saturday, October 28, 2023. 
The following students received ribbons and trophies in speech and debate:
Lani Tessaro - 1st place in Interpretation
Madison Moon - 1st place in Congressional Debate
Kase Proctor - 2nd place in Interpretation
Zeke Rutger - 2nd place in Congressional Debate
Harper Salmons - 3rd place in Interpretation
Avery Smith - 3rd place in Congressional Debate
Camilla Daniel - 4th place in Congressional Debate
Dylan Gale - 4th place in Interpretation
Jason Seel and Avery Thurston tied for 5th place in Congressional Debate.
The Edison Middle School team competed against students from Wauseon, Gilmour Academy and Laurel School.  The team next competes at the Sylvania Northview Tournament on November 11th. Congratulations team!

Sylvania Speech and Debate

Congratulations to the following students who placed at the Sylvania Northview Speech and Debate competition Saturday, November 11.  Kasen Proctor placed 1st in Congressional Debate, Madison Moon placed 2nd in congressional debate; Avery Thurston placed fourth in Congressional Debate and Lani Tessaro placed 4th in Interpretation.  As a result of their high placings over the past two weeks, Kasen,  Madison, Avery and Lani have all been accepted into the National Speech and Debate Association Honor Society and have qualified to compete at the State Middle School competition later this year.  Congratulations to these students of excellence.  

Mentor Tournament

Congratulations to the Edison Middle School Speech and Debate team which placed 2nd out of 8 competing teams from the Cleveland, Akron, Dayton and Cincinnati regions Saturday, November 18 at the Mentor Tournament.  
Individual winners for Edison Middle School include the following:
Lani Tessro - 1st place in Interpretation
Camilla Daniel - 3rd place in Congressional Debate
Harper Salmons - 5th place in Interpretation
Kase Proctor - 5th place in Congressional Debate
Madison Moon - 6th place in Congressional Debate
Dylan Gale - 7th place in Interpretation.

Olmsted Falls

Congratulations to the Edison Middle School Speech and Debate team which competed Saturday at the Olmsted Falls Forensic Tournament. Nearly 200 students from 10 Middle School competed.

Individual winners for Edison included Harper Salmons - 2nd place in Oral Interpretation, Camilla Daniel - 3rd place in Congressional debate, Austin Warren - 5th place in congressional debate, Madison Moon - 6th place in congressional debate and Natalie Mees and Bella Maynard tied for 7th place in Program of Interpretation. 

Vermilion Tournament

Congratulations to Camilla Daniel who placed 4th in Congressional Debate on Saturday, December 9  at the Vermilion Tournament. Congratulations also to Kasen Proctor who placed 6th in Congressional debate in a field of 43 middle school competitors.  

Toledo Rossford Tournament

Congratulations to the following Middle School students who placed at the Toledo Rossford Tournament on December 16th. 

In congressional debate Camilla Daniel took 1st place honors and Madison Moon placed second. 

In Speech Interpretation, Lani Tessaro placed 2nd and Harper Salmons took home 3rd place honors. 

Avery Thurston also placed 3rd in congressional debate.
