ENROLLMENT
If you are enrolling an in-district student for the 2025-26 school year, enrollment begins May 1, 2025.

Edison Local Schools has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms, data management, and registration service, that will be replacing paper forms. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign enrollment, back-to-school, and athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time.   

At the beginning of each school year, you will be required to simply verify that the information in FinalForms is current and  electronically sign all forms. Throughout the school year, if you need to update your child’s information you are able to do so and sign the forms. You may review your data at any time to verify it is current.

We are asking that ALL parents/guardians of students use FinalForms.  Please contact the appropriate building Administrative Assistant (listed below) to help get your information set up if you are having issues. Parents of new students enrolling into the district can follow the instructions Creating A Parent Account.

The following documents will be required at the time of enrolling a new student. These forms can be directly uploaded into your online FinalForms account.  

  1. Child's birth certificate
  2. Immunization records
  3. Parent/Guardian photo ID
  4. Proof of residency
  5. Special Education documents, if applicable
  6. Court papers including custody papers, if applicable

OPEN ENROLLMENT

If you live outside of the Edison Local Schools District but wish to enroll through open enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year, please submit one open enrollment application per student applying for open enrollment.  Applications will be available on April 1st. Applications will now be completed as a google form and submitted immediately upon completion.  Paper forms will no longer be utilized, with the exception of Pre-School.   The deadline for submitting your application is June 30th.  Approval to attend must be received prior to registering your student(s) into FinalForms.  Guidelines for open enrollment are listed below. 

The Edison Local School District will permit the enrollment of students from any other Ohio school district. Students wishing to enroll in the Edison Local School District may do so in accordance of policies and regulations adopted by the Edison Board of Education as pertaining to Policy JECBD Intra-district Open Enrollment and Policy JECBB-Admission of Inter-district Open Enrollment.
  
Applications for Inter-District Open Enrollment must be submitted no later than June 30th. One application must be submitted for each student that is applying for open enrollment. 

Proof of residency is required to be submitted yearly. Approved documents that will be accepted for residency must include parent/guardian name(s) and current address (i.e. utility bill, electric bill, gas bill, pay stub, mortgage document, or property tax statement.) Application forms will be placed on hold until current proof of residency is received.

Parents who wish their student(s) to continue to attend the Edison Local School District must reapply annually. There is no guarantee enrollment will be granted each year. 

Inter-district enrollment limits may be set by grade level or on a course-by-course basis; no inter-district application will be permitted if the enrollment of the grade level being requested exceeds appropriate limits as determined by the superintendent. Class sizes and staffing levels are determined by the number of in-district residents the district must serve. Once these numbers are established, open enrolled students are accepted as needed to meet grade-level capacity limits. 

All approved open enrollments are in effect for the current school year only. Applicants will be considered with an assurance that resident students will not be displaced. The following order for placement will be followed:

• Students who have parents who are employees in the District
• Students previously enrolled in the District 
• New student applicants

Transportation for open enrolled students shall be the sole responsibility of their parents/guardians.

Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) rules will govern all athletic eligibility decisions. For additional information, contact the Athletic Director, Kristen Hayden at khayden@edisonchargers.org
