Morning Announcements - Wednesday, September 12, 2018

Happy birthday to Hailey Drury and Lindsay Sneider!

Today is picture day at Edison High School starting at 8 am in the gym.  Please listen for announcements beginning 1st period and report promptly when called.  All students in grades 9 - 12 must get their picture taken even if not purchasing a packet.   Please take you order form along with payment to the photographer.  

Today at 4:00, girls golf will be at Huron. At 5:00, varsity and JV girls soccer will be at home with Oak Harbor.

The girls tennis team beat St. Mary’s on Tuesday 5-0. Winning at Singles were Mariah Medina, Jayla Medina and Emily Vogus. Winning at doubles were the teams of Kaylee Ries/Torri Keyser and Lexi Weyer/Emily Moore. The team is now 9-2 overall and play Tiffin Calvert later today.

The Boys JV soccer team tied Perkins 1-1. Brody Yost with the goal. The boys are back at it Thursday vs Oak Harbor

The boys golf team was beaten by first place Vermilion  166-186. Casey Fair led the Chargers with a 41 followed by Aden Hall's 45. Noak Pulaski and Matthew Pound had the final two scores of 47 and 53.

The varsity volleyball team beat Port Clinton 25-7, 25-11, 25-13.  Natalie Lambert led the team with 16 points and 16 assists.  Lilli Schuster had 9 kills, Hannah Vitaz had 8 kills, and Kira Appeman had 7 kills.  Grace Houser had 14 digs and 6 points, Olivia Vitaz had 10 assists and 6 points, and Jessica Stoll added 8 points and 5 digs.

The JV volleyball team beat the Redskins 25-10, 25-11.  Reagan King and Olivia Vitaz each served 9 points and Lindsay Roberts added 5 points.

Attention Student Drivers:  Students who drive to school must park in the main student lot on the east side of the building or in the temporary lot in the back.  Please do not park in the faculty lot or in front of the building.  Students who park in the back lot must walk around the construction site and enter the school through the senior hallway.  

The Athletic office is selling varsity football presale tickets for the game at Norwalk on Friday night.  All presale tickets are $5 and tickets at the gate will be $6.

Book Club will meet after school Friday, September 14th, in Mrs. Wobser's Room 203 to select our first read of the year.  Come with suggestions:)  Snacks will be provided.  Hope to see you there:)

Attention French Club!  We are looking for t-shirt designs.  If you have an idea or are artistically inclined, turn your design idea in to Madame by Friday, September 14th.  We will vote at the meeting on September 18.

On Tuesday September 18 we will hold our 1st Cleveland Clinic Worldwide Classroom.  Meet a Physician Assistant will be from 9-10:00 in the library.  If this is something you’d be interested in attending, please sign up outside of Mrs. Brown’s office.

Anyone interested in being a French Club officer should stop in and see Madame sometime this week.

Auditions and crew interviews for Don't Drink Drink the Water are today and Thursday. Information is available on the way board.

Attention seniors - Do you need help with your college admissions essay?  Juniors, are you struggling to complete your literacy narrative?  Then come to the Edison Writing Center, which is open during all lunch periods today.  Any students who need help with a writing assignment should bring their lunch and their essay to Room 201 today.

Attention Winter Sport Female Athletes Not Involved in a Fall Sport  - The weight room is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30. See Coach Moyer if you have any questions.

Homecoming T shirts should be turned in today to the library!  Papers can be dropped off in the library until 3:00!

The Math Lab is open everyday during 5th, 6th, and 7th lunch periods. Sign up in Mrs. Wallrabenstein's room 402.

There will be a brief Spanish Honor Society meeting at 7:30am this Friday in room 302. The meeting is for all current members and those wishing to join the SHH.

Thursday over lunch - all students that have CCP course or are taking a CCP class are required to attend an orientation over their lunch period.  Grab your lunch and bring it to the library when you meet with the BGSU representative.  Remember this is required of everyone taking CCP and BGSU classes.
