Morning Announcements for Tuesday, May 29

Today’s Trivia Question: What percentage of the average person’s left hand does the actual typing?



The lunch menu for today is hot dog or deli choice selection, assorted vegetables, assorted fruit, baked chips and milk.  



Starting today through Thursday, you must have money in your account, or cash in hand in order to receive a full meal. You will not be allowed to charge in the cafeteria. Check with Ms. Bryant or Mrs. Geason to see your account status. This is a reminder to 8th graders that all accounts must be taken care of before 8th grade recognition ceremony.



Congratulations to all Power of the Pen writers who competed at state on Friday.  We are proud of all of you! Congratulations to Torri Keyser who placed 11th in the state out of 400 writers! Awesome job, Torri!



There are only three extra yearbooks left.  They will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.  Just bring in $15 and see Mrs. Bishop.  She is in the main office right now.  



The EHS Summer Volleyball Youth Camp Forms for grades 4-7 are to be handed in by May 31 to Mrs. Bishop or the main office.  You may register at the door on the first day of camp on July 16 but may not receive a T-Shirt.  Extra forms are in the main office.  


Edison Middle School Student Council is hosting the 8th grade dance on May 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Gentlemen are to wear their khaki or plaid shorts and a collar shirt like a golf shirt or a button down shirt. No gym shorts or t-shirts permitted.   Ladies are to wear a casual simple dress that is school appropriate.  It must have sleeves. Flip flops are permitted!  Tickets are $3 and will be sold tomorrow during lunch and Thursday morning.  No tickets will be sold at the door.



Mrs. Reilly would like to send out a very special congratulations from the Norwalk Elks Lodge #730 to Weston Hickey and Clint Finnen for being selected as the top winners at the District level for their American Essay contest letters that they wrote.



Both of the boys will be recognized at the Elks awards banquet ceremony on Wednesday May 30 at 6:30pm.  Both of the boys will be awarded gift cards for being the top finishers in their grade level categories'.



Congratulations to Weston and Clint for your great work and to your teachers for helping you with the essay process.  Thank you to all of the students that participated in the Americanism essay contest.



The answer for today’s trivia question is the average person’s left hand does 56% of the typing when using the proper position of the hands on the keyboard.
