Happy Birthday to Angela Miller!

Thank you to everyone who started our holiday spirit week out with lots of Christmas Spirit!  Make sure tomorrow you dress up as your favorite holiday character!

The varsity boys and girls traveled to Star Lanes for the first annual Christmas Classic Saturday.  The boys finished 5th, just 26 pins out of the next round.  Brandon Goodrich was 4th overall.  He received a certificate. The varsity girls won the tournament facing Port Clinton in the last round, winning in the last match.  Kaylie Harris took 5th overall with a 508 series, she also received a certificate.  Great job to both teams! 

On Friday night the freshman basketball team took on Vermilion at home.  After a hard fought first half battle the Chargers were down one at the break.  A scoreless 3rd quarter made the difference in the Chargers being defeated 36-24.  Clay Byington led the Chargers with 9 points. On Saturday night the boys hosted St. Mary's in a non-conference matchup.  The Chargers physicality was the difference maker as they dominated inside the paint and won 35-19.  Keegan Smith lead all scores with 10 points while Clay Byington added 8 and Brady Barker and Noah Smith had 6 each.  The freshman play at home on Wednesday night against Western Reserve starting at 5:30

The boys varsity basketball team lost two hard fought games over the weekend against Vermilion a well-coached St. Mary's team. The boys were led in scoring by Larry Kessler, who had 13 in both games. Caleb Bissell scored 6 Friday, Patrick Amburgy had 7 Saturday, and Andrew Neate scored 5 Saturday. The boys will be back in action this Saturday v. Norwalk St. Paul. 

The JV boys basketball team lost to Vermilion Friday 49-38.  Luke Bissell lead Edison in scoring with 13 points while Andrew Neate scored 8.  Saturday the JV team lost to St Mary's 43-32, Lincoln Meredith was the high scorer for the Chargers with 7.  The boys are back in action Saturday against St Paul.

Publications has started taking orders for the 2018-2019 yearbook.  Please turn in the form given to you by your homeroom teacher to Mr Murray along with a check for $60 made out to Edison High School.  You can also order an EHS yearbook from jostensyearbooks.com.  

Attention Math Club members:  There will be a short meeting at 2:50 in Mrs. Wally's room. Please bring any items for the Ohgo Christmas boxes.
Attention Edison students who like read and  volunteer their time - Early readers is a volunteer club that goes to Edison Elementary on Tuesday mornings from 7:10 - 7:50.  You will read with an Edison elementary student every week for 4-6 weeks.  It’s a commitment.  If this is something you would be interested in please stop by the library for more information and sign up! You can also see Mallory Stiles if you have any questions.  

Ho-Ho-Ho Christmas is only one week away and it’s the perfect time to show off your school spirit. Tomorrow is dress as your favorite christmas character like Cindy Lu Who, The Grinch, or Frosty the Snowman. Wednesday is wear your holiday hats and socks! Thursday is the Night Before the Christmas assembly and wear your PJ’s to school! On Friday- Wear your Ugliest sweater! Student Council has some great plans to make your holiday week a blast! 

Everyone who participates in spirit day will have a chance to win a $20 Dunkin Donuts.  Just walk through the library and show Mrs. Moyer how you are dressed for a chance to win! 

Any student interested in joining the speech and debate team in Public Forum debate should attend a meeting after school on Tuesday, December 18th immediately after school. Mr. Amstutz will go over the new public forum debate briefs for the January topic as well as PRO and CON cases.  If you want to compete in this debate event, you MUST attend this one time only meeting.  It will last until 4:30 p.m. and will be held in the Conference Room.

Choir council is selling candy and hot chocolate bags for $1 today through Wednesday the 19th. Part of the proceeds will go to the Salvation Army in Norwalk. You can purchase a bag during homeroom from a choir council member or after school in the cafeteria.  

There will be a Spanish Honor Society meeting tomorrow morning  (Tuesday) at 7:35am. Please see Profesora if you can't make the meeting.

Book club will meet before school in Room 203 on Friday, Dec. 21st, to discuss chapters 1-7 of our new read: Dumplin'.  We will enjoy some breakfast treats as well.  Hope you can make it! 

Do you have a favorite short Christmas classic you’d like to watch, well your in luck today during lunch you have the opportunity to vote for your favorite movie that we will watch on Friday before our Christmas assembly.
