Football Ends Season

The Varsity football team lost last Friday in the regional semi-final game against Coldwater.  The Chargers ended their season with an 11-2 record and finished as the #11 ranked team in the state.  The team won the SBC Bay Division Championship and hosted two home playoff games for the first time in school history!  They won a record 8 games at home and were led by 5 seniors - Marcus Medina, Blake Simon, Carson Smith, Gavin O'Dell, and Kaden Neate.  The coaches would like to thank the student body, cheerleaders, band, and staff for all their support throughout the season!  Go Chargers!

First Round Playoff Game vs Spencerville

The Charger Football team began the opening round of the OHSAA Football playoffs this past Friday with a dominating victory over the Spencerville Bearcats by a score of 48 - 0.  With the victory, the team earned a second home playoff game this Friday against the Eastwood Eagles.  The team would like to thank the student body for its wonderful support and we look forward to celebrating with you again this Friday night.

SBC Bay Division Champs

The Charger Football team wrapped up a brilliant regular season by dominating Huron last
Friday night by a score of 35 - 7, finishing the regular season with a 9 - 1 record.  With the win
the team won the outright SBC Bay division championship and earned the #2 seed in the
Division V Region 18 play-offs.  The Chargers will host Spencerville this Friday at home in the
first round of playoff football.  The team would like to thank the student body for all their
support this season and helping them celebrate the championship last Friday.

Varsity Football vs Port Clinton

The Varsity football team improved to 7-1 with a 30-0 win over Port Clinton at True-Lay Stadium. On the fourth play from scrimmage, quarterback Marcus Medina faked a handoff, and ran up the middle before darting right and raced down the sideline for a 67-yard touchdown.  Then, Alex Davidson kicked the first of three extra points. Later in the first quarter, they drove 80 yards in 11 plays and made it 14-0 when Luke Blatnik scored on a 5-yard touchdown run around the left end. On the drive, Marcus carried the ball for 32 yards, and 16 yards. Cy Finnen ran for 3 yards on fourth-and-2 at the 23 and Marcus found Abe Hermes on the left sideline for 10 yards on third-and-5 at the 15. Blatnik scored on the next play. On the next score, Marcus found a wide-open Blake Simon that saw him rumble for 75 yards for a touchdown.  Alex Davidson added a 32-yard field goal late in the second quarter to give us a 24-0 lead. Marcus completed 6-of-10 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown and ran 12 times for 113 yards and a score. Cy Finnen had 10 rushes for 78 yards and Luke Blatnik had 6 rushes for 55 yards.  Abe Hermes had 2 receptions for 40 yards.  Grayson Smith had  10 tackles and Lucas  Langhals recorded a sack.
